Ye Wei’s cheek: "Dear Auntie, I missed you so much."Ye Wei was overjoyed; this little girl was like her daughter in her eyes, and she loved them both equally. She pinched her pale cheeks and said, "Yo...Chapter 647

There was a small military base at the border of California and Mexico, with many shrubs planted nearby. The area for miles around it was uninhabited, and the central region was surrounded by high-voltage electric fences. This originally was an army information department's military base, which later became a special forces training ground, and finally turned into a secret prison for certain agents to undergo training.

Many political prisoners in America often refused to confess after committing major crimes. Important criminals, especially those needing to disclose specific facts, would be transferred here. This location was not far from the U.S.-Mexico border, just two hours' drive away from Mexico. If something went wrong, they could simply send them across the border into Mexico, and if anything really happened, there would be someone to shift responsibility onto.

Mo Chen personally took charge of Sicily Island while Mo Yao and Wushuang led Yun and Feng in a rescue operation for Mo Xiaobai. They hadn't pinpointed his exact location but guessed he was likely below this secret prison. Mo Yao couldn't wait any longer, flying straight to California upon receiving preliminary information from Ye Ningyuan, who informed him that it was highly probable that Mo Xiaobai was inside.

Mo Yao and Wushuang moved through the shrubbery, skillfully navigating under the high-voltage electric fence. They were fully equipped; although there weren't many agents in this base (only around a hundred), they were NATO-trained special forces, highly capable. Too many people could alert their target, so Mo Yao brought only Wushuang and his close guards Feng and Yun. The group hid within the shrubbery while Mo Yao observed the terrain with his tablet computer. The maps obtained from inside the base had some inaccuracies; they needed to rely on visual observation to find good vantage points.

The base consisted of six buildings of varying heights, and Mo Yao focused on a three-story building. According to Xu Nuo's description, this was where access to the underground prison lay—yes, the prison itself was built underground. The central building was pitch black as if it were abandoned, while other buildings weren't brightly lit but had some rooms illuminated.

Feng muttered, "What kind of training ground is this for American special forces It's so desolate."

Wuduang was operating his computer to choose a sniper position while saying, "This place used to be a special forces training base. Later on, it housed political prisoners who offended someone, and as a result, the base was destroyed. Look at that building over there; half of it has collapsed. The ground damage is severe, so the government decided not to waste money on reconstruction but instead converted the location to another use. Gradually, this place became a special prison. Because many important individuals are housed here, there appear to be agents stationed here for training. In reality, however... these agents are already experienced and mature ones. In other words, don't underestimate them."

"Understood." Fengyun responded in unison. When Moyao became anxious and pointed at the map, he said, "This passage can only fit one person; I will go through alone. If Xiaobai is inside, I'll notify you which exit to use. If not, I'll come out. Wuduang, choose this spot for your sniper position. Feng, handle the power control here and manage the landmines. Yun, head up this building as soon as possible; I need to know what's happening outside at all times."

"Understood!" It wasn't their first time working together on a mission, so they worked well in tandem. After getting ready, Moyao stored his equipment into the backpack, and after making sure everyone’s headsets were functioning properly, they split up to carry out their tasks separately. Atop the highest building of the base, there were two lighting lamps with very powerful beams that could easily expose anyone within its reach if hit by it directly. Calculating the timing carefully, Moyao used the bushes for cover and scaled down to the northeast corner’s building using ropes under the night's darkness. His figure quickly disappeared inside the building; Wuduang said, "Be careful everyone, stay in touch."

Wuduang scanned the eastern building with her scanning mirror and found that only the second floor was occupied by people while other floors were empty. From this building, the view to the prison exit for sniping is 100% clear. She and Yun are both inside this building, but Wuduang’s sniper position is on the fourth floor while Yun's observation point is on the sixth.

Yun said, "There are only four people on the second floor; do we take them out first"

"No need to alarm them. Xiaobai might not even be here. If we eliminate these individuals and get noticed, it could spell trouble for the boss." Wuduang replied. She and Yun climbed up to the third floor via external water pipes since this level housed very few people and wasn’t directly illuminated by side lighting, making their ascent easy. One person ascended to the fourth floor quickly and positioned themselves, while another went up to the sixth.

Wuduang observed her surroundings through the telescopic sight and frowned slightly as she said, "Boss, be careful; they are very relaxed with security here. I've checked this place; there are four important political prisoners kept below here, and their guards usually maintain a high level of vigilance at night. Such laxity is unusual."

Since it is a public channel, anyone can hear. Yun continued, "The west building is abandoned and empty. The north building has ten people on the first floor, ten people on the second floor, and ten people on the fourth floor; no one else. In the south building, there seems to be a gathering on the ground floor with around forty or fifty people present. There's a lookout post on each floor above that. Boss, there are four people on the second floor of the prison, guarded by only one iron door. If you enter through the iron door, it will definitely alert them. Instead, why don't you enter via the utility pipe There is an access point here which allows you to directly climb down to beneath the prison. The exit is in the sewage drain and it's easy to get out from there."

Moyao whispered, "Feng, go northeast corner for support."

All of this was done silently. Moyao wore night-vision goggles as he struggled through the pipes, each person reporting their position and the directions they needed to be cautious about, then quickly making assumptions on what could happen in the next three steps.

Moyao soon reached the sewage outlet, with the prison above it. He entered the sewer well, secured his footing, and climbed up nimbly. After slightly lifting the manhole cover, he found everything quiet and heard no sounds.

Moyao asked, "Feng, I need to know how many surveillance cameras there are in the prison."

Feng replied, "Boss, luckily, there aren't any. The prisoners here are mostly political detainees; if they're not stubborn, they wouldn’t be kept here. As a result, interrogations tend to be quite brutal and aren’t usually recorded unless necessary, as leaving evidence behind is avoided."

Moyao acknowledged with an "Hn" sound that he received the information. This underground prison had three floors in total; Moyao was now on the first floor after entering through the sewer well. There were two more floors below him. He could follow the sewage pipe to reach those lower levels, but it would be too dirty. Although convenient, he preferred climbing through ventilation shafts.

As the facilities were built underground, they were constructed in a way that facilitated jailbreaks. Fortunately for Mo Yao, no one was imprisoned on the first floor, allowing him to crawl into the ventilation duct. Only one person could fit through it at a time, making his equipment slow-moving and thus advancing quite difficult. Mo Yao secured his pistol and magazine before stowing away simple micro-explosives. He discarded his long-barreled gun as it was heavy and made noise during this type of movement. After crawling through the second floor, Mo Yao used his x-ray glasses to look down below; several political prisoners were being held there, their cries of agony and harsh interrogations could be heard.

Just by listening to these sounds, Mo Yao knew what kind of torture they had endured here. He would have gone mad if Xiao Bai was treated like this. There wasn't any sign of Xiao Bai here so Mo Yao continued crawling downward through the ventilation ducts until he reached the bottommost floor. To his surprise, it was completely empty. The prison was unoccupied.

Wushuang asked, "Boss, I just heard screams—is that Xiao Bai"

"No!" Mo Yao replied in a hushed voice.

Wushuang didn't press further as Mo Yao carefully observed the bottommost floor with his x-ray glasses. He searched several times but found no one; this floor was empty, save for a dim light bulb flickering weakly. The air underground made breathing difficult. Mo Yao felt utterly desperate yet dared not linger, slowly crawling back up to the second floor. Moving in the ventilation ducts was arduous, and he struggled upward until reaching the second level again. Peering through the gaps, he saw they had switched prisoners; their torture methods were endless and varied. This person’s eye had been gouged out, leaving a terrifying appearance with deep and shallow scars. He must have once been handsome, but his beauty was now gone.

Mo Yao felt pity for him as sometimes government interrogations could be inhumane, especially when trying to extract secrets by any means necessary. These special forces operatives were clearly accustomed to such actions.

Xiao Bai wasn't here, which Mo Yao found somewhat fortunate. Just as he was about to leave, he heard a male voice shout, "Smelly brat, see his fate See how long you can hold out!cial feelings. Her reputation within the industry wasn't great at present, even though she was Ye Family's Second Young Master’s wife. Many advertisers had canceled their contracts due to her past sca...
